New Beetle började tillverkas i Mexico 1998 och under första året såldes den endast i Nordamerika. 1999 kom den till Europa. Lecab lyckades 1998 köpa och importera 10 New Beetle från Kanada. 9 bilar såldes till lyckliga köpare som ville vara först med den ikoniska bilen. Det här är den 10:e bilen som vi placerade på taket till bilvaruhuset på Våxnäs.
I november 2012 och efter 14 år på taket i Karlstad, har vi bytt ut den ”gula bubblan” mot nya modellen av ”The New Beetle Turbo”. Vår gula bubbla startade på första försöket efter 14 år. Väder och vind har inte tvingat fram varken rost eller färgmattning. Till och med batteriet i fjärrnyckeln funkade.

The New Beetle began production in Mexico in 1998 and was initially sold exclusively in North America during its first year. In 1999, it was introduced to Europe.
In 1998, Lecab successfully purchased and imported 10 New Beetles from Canada.
Nine of the cars were sold to happy buyers eager to be among the first to own this iconic vehicle.
This is the 10th car, which we placed on the roof of the car dealership at Våxnäs.
In November 2012, after 14 years on the roof in Karlstad, we replaced the ”yellow Beetle” with the new model, The New Beetle Turbo.
Our yellow Beetle started on the first try after 14 years.
Despite all the weather exposure, there was no rust or fading of the paint.
Even the battery in the remote key was still working!
